As I mentioned in my previous post, just I picked up the digital edition of Codex: Blood Angels and the rumors (or rumours if you prefer) on vanguard veterans, glaive encarmines, and the Storm Raven were debunked.
Well, I had some time to look at this more and it looks like there is some conflicting information in different sections in the iBook as well as a change to Mephiston that would make him rock even more.
More after the break.
First off, looks like there are two profiles for the Stormraven. One has Skies of Fury and doesn't have Deep Strike, and the other one has Skies of Blood and keeps Deep Strike. I would assume the Skies of Fury no Deep Strike listing is the correct one and this was just an oversight. Not like losing Deep Strike wasn't a big deal anyway…
Hopefully this gets updated soon and these issues get fixed. I posted a question on the Games Workshop: Digital Edition page on Facebook, but I haven't received a response. When I do, I'll edit this post.
Till next time,
–The Harrower
There is nothing in the FAQ saying that Meph only has two powers. that reference was for libbys. Furthermore he comes with 3 powers in his base profile. unless your digital copy doesnt have his 3 powers he comes with listed...
ReplyDeleteSo did the new digital codex for the Blood Angels give them Chapter Tactics like that of the other first founding chapters and their successors? No one is talking about them...........
ReplyDelete@ Pissed-Off-Plebe. Nope. The just kept Red Thirst and Descent of Angels. This is pretty much the same Codex, just a couple of changes that may not have been intended.
ReplyDelete@Preston Luna This is quoted directly from the FAQ: "A Blood Angels Librarian (including Mephiston) may use the psychic disciplines found in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook, instead of those in Codex: Blood Angels. If he does so, generate two new powers from the Biomancy, Divination, Telepathy or Telekinesis disciplines (in any combination) before armies are deployed. You can click on the screenshots I posted above and see what's in the Digital Codex.
I found it as pretty much ridiculous rules lawering to limit mephy to two rulebook powers, it's obvious that they're refereing to the ml1 librarians having two powers (to make up for the 100 point cost) as they later go onto state that meph is mastery level 3 and the rule book states that ML3 psykers get 3 powers. now at least you have the digital codex as well as the psychic powers app to plop infront of those cheesy opponents. 250 points at ml2 is very expensive, even with his statline.
DeleteI hear you. Mephiston is good no doubt, but 250 is still a lot to swallow.
DeleteWell that absolutely sucks..........what does Red Thirst and Descent of Angels do in this edition?
ReplyDeleteSame as before. Red Thirst gives Feel No Pain and Furious Charge to units that roll a 1 after deployment before the game starts. Descent of Angels is scatter D6 when deploying via Deep Strike if equipped with a Jump Pack and reroll reserve rolls for units equipped with Jump Packs.
Deleteas far as i know, Red Thirst gives Fearless and Furious Charge (5th edition codex pag 23, no changes on faq... unless i missed something x_x )
DeleteDid they get the Storm Talon?
ReplyDeleteI wish. No changes like that. For the most part this is just a copy paste from the Blood Angels Codex with some extra typos and confusion thrown in for good measure.
