• Terminators are the same as Codex: Space Marines. Base 200 points with the following stats: WS4 BS4 S4 T4 W1 I4 A2 S2+.
• Captain is base 90 points just like Codex: Space Marines (I’m noticing a trend here).
• There is something weird going on with the Blood Angels FOC on the Games Workshop website. The new Sanguinary Priest is listed under HQ while Brother Corbulo remains under Elites. Death Company are now listed under Elites while Chaplain Lemartes is listed under Troops.
• Dante and Seth are the Blood Angels Lords of War (based on a picture of Force Requisition).
• Seth is 155 points (confirmed via a picture of Force Requisition).
• Librarian Dreadnought can be your Warlord (confirmed via Blood Angels Codex preview).
• Descent of Angels is now a Warlord Trait (confirmed via Blood Angels Codex preview).
• Sanguinary Guard: Have Fearless and Furious Charge. 165 points base. Can add up to 5 more marines for 35 points each. Equipped with Encarmine sword and can upgrade to Encarmine Axe for free. Can upgrade to Deathmasks for 1 point per model or take a Chapter Banner for 25 points. Can still take Power Fists, Plasma Pistols, and Inferno Pistols.
• Death Company: Drop to WS4. Retain all previous USRs. Upgrade to Jump Pack appears to be 5 points per model. Still listed in the Troops slot.
• Death Company Dreadnought: Drop to WS4. Loses Fleet. Still ignore Shaken and Stunned results. 6 attacks on the charge (3 base + 1 for dual close combat weapons, +2 for Rage). Point costs appear to be the same. Still listed in the Troops slot.
• Blood Talons: Strength x2, AP2, Melee, Shred, Specialist Weapon
• Magna-grapple: Move Through Cover, Reroll failed Assaults vs. vehicles
• Deathstorm Formation: Fearless to all models in the formation. If the model was already fearless, they gain counter-attack instead. Once per game, in the assault phase, Karlaen can call a "Bloody Toll" and all models in the formation reroll failed to wound rolls.
• Captain Karlaen: WS6. 160 points. Terminator Armour with Iron Halo, Storm Bolter, and Hammer of Baal: Melee, Concussive, Master-crafted, Specialist Weapon, Unwieldy. Warlord Trait: Strategic Genius: +1 Seize the Initiative, and can re-roll any reserve roll.

Got a little bit of info, not sure if it's been published yet but anyways:
Shield of Baal: Exterminatus is a two volume set including a 152 page narrative book and 64 page rules book that includes Cities of Death missions and data sheets for Blood Angels and Necrons. From what we saw in the leaked white dwarf photos there's 18 of them.

The special edition Blood Angels Codex will be 1,500 copies only and come in a slipcase.
Inside the special edition is the new codex, a hardback Sons of Sanguinius Painting Guide, and an Art Folio with 7 prints of the Blood Angels and successor chapters.

via Pascalnz on The Bolter and Chainsword forums: 12.04.14

Death Company and Death Company Dreadnoughts dropped to WS4. Death Company Dreadnought with Blood Talons, Magna-grapple, and Stormbolter 140 points (same as before). Death Company Dreadnought is no longer Fleet.

Death Company still have 2 Attacks, Rage, Relentless, Fearless, Furious Charge, and Feel No Pain. Appear to be 20 points per model with 5 points to upgrade to Jump Pack. There is a character in the unit named Rafen with 3 attacks, so the Jump Pack cost might be cheaper.

Captain Karlaen has And They Shall Know No Fear, Counter-attack, Furious Charge, and Independent Character. The Hammer of Baal is just a Mastercrafted Thunderhammer.

Terminator Squad has Preferred Enemy: Tyranids. Armed with a Heavy Flamer and Chainfist for 215 points.

Deathstorm Formation is 5 Terminators, 5 Death Company, Death Company Dreadnought, and Captain Karlaen. The formation is Fearless and if you already have Fearless you gain Counter-attack. Bloody Toll: Once per game at the start of any assault phase all units in the formation reroll all failed To Wound rolls until the end of that phase.

via The Bolter and Chainsword forums: 12.03.2014

Sang guard 165 points, same load out as now but come with Fear and Furious Charge.

Also Wings of Sanguinius and Unleash Rage are in. No description of how they work.

Fear not Blood Angels players, the fate of the Sanguinary Guard and Death Company Boxes has been uncovered! Games Workshop will be repacking (in the new black box format) and re-releasing them next week, but best perhaps the best news of all is the price will be the same!

41-07 BLOOD ANGELS DEATH COMPANY Plastic Box 6-Dec-14 $33
41-08 BLOOD ANGELS SANGUINARY GUARD Plastic Box 6-Dec-14 $33

via Faeit 212: 12.01.2014

The Response from Games Workshop on "Basegate":

The new 32mm bases were a design choice made by the sculptors, to make the Death Company look more imposing. There is no specific base that you have to use for the Death Company, so should you wish to mount them on the smaller 20mm bases this is fine, but if you would rather have the slightly larger 32mm base, this is also fine.

I hope that this helps, but if you need anything further, please let me know.

Forgot to add that there's a new sculpt for a special character coming in plastic as well. From the description I received it sounds like Dante

Blood Angels Dual Terminator Kit
• First build is Honour Guard and regular Terminators with ornamentation similar to the Dark Angel kit.
• Second build is Death Company Terminators with rather large Chainfists and what appears to be souped up storm bolters/gatling cannons. 38 quid a box.

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212: 11.28.2014

Blood angels get their codex next week. The cover is an assault marine wielding a plasma pistol and and chainsword, overall a nice looking cover.

Blood Angels also get new datacards and dice, but more importantly blood angels get a new tactical squad with lots of options. Shoulder pads, helmets and blood angel symbols are everywhere. It looks like a full box of bits. Heavy Flamer is also in the box.

Last but least there is a new Sanguinary Priest with with a extra machinery on the backpack, a blood chalice, and a nice looking chainsword.

via the comments section on Faeit 212 by conspiracynutt: 11.15.2014

Ok, this is either going to go down like a lead balloon or I may have just found the holy grail of rumour farming!!!!

So here goes, the next book being released for the campaign is....
Shield of Baal:Exterminatus.

Not only that but the Blood angels codex is coming with this funky little tidbit:
Codex Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard Edition

As well as:
Blood Angels Data Cards(English)

I know people will throw salt all over this, but I believe it is genuine and I have proof but I just don't want to give it away just yet in case Games Workshop patch that particular hole because it could be a potential gold mine for info.

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212: 11.06.2014

Shield of Baal is the first release for the campaign. There will be more. It comes in two hardback books in a slipcase.

Book 1, fluff details on the invasion:
• includes the invasion of the Cryptus System, called the shieldworlds of Baal.
• the Astra Militarum, Blood Angels and even the Sisters of Battle are mentioned here.

Book 2, rules:
• 6 Echoes of War scenarios
• Cities of Death expansion with 6 new missions
• Death from the Skies rules for aerial combat

Forces of Leviathan, a new detachment for Tyranids:
• New Warlord traits
• Datasheets for new units
• New formations

via KaldorSwarmlord over on Warseer 11.01.2014

I don't know if any other german WD readers noticed:

on page 20 of the current WD, where they talk about the various ways to benefit from the Toxicrene, some note is written in the bottom left corner (I'll translate):

"Shield of Baal: Leviathan ist ausschließlic in englischer Sprache erhältlich, aber damit du sofort mit dem Spielen loslegen kannst, haben wir hier die Regeln auf Deutsch abgedruckt."

"Shield of Baal: Leviathan is exclusively available in English, but for the purpose of playing immediatly we printed the rules in German here for you."

via Larry Vela on Bell of Lost Souls 10.30.2014

Blood Angels
5 Death Company
10 Assault Marines
1 Furiouso Dreadnaught
1 New Exclusive captain w/ jump pack

Tyranids
3 Warriors
20 Gaunts
3 Lictors (this makes no sense, perhaps Hive Guard?)
1 NEW Exclusive Tyranid Prime

via Nightfury from the comment section on Faeit 212 10.28.2014

The campaign box HQ for Tyranids will be a Broodlord. I don't play Tyranids so not sure if that's good or not but there ya go.

Umm, wait a sec I might have gotten that mixed up with the Lictor. I don't play bugs so sorry if my names are off, but it's the thing with two big arm claws on a dreadnaught-sized base.

You'll get a Blood Angels named captain with an assault/jump squad of Death Company a squad of Terminators and a squad of Tactical Marines. The Tyranids will get the Lictor (big guy with claw arms on a 40mm base) and a pack of Termigants cc? And hormagaunts gunbugs? I don't play nids so if I got the names wrong sorry... heard it here first.

Oh.. and the Necrons will play a part in this campaign far as I've heard.

I was specifically told campaigns would be used to tie codexs together (i.e. Orks & Space Wolves) so expect this to be Blood Angels and Necrons fighting Tyranids together.

via Lords of War Gaming on Facebook 10.28.2014I keep getting questions about a Tyranids Codex release and here's some info.

• This is a model release no Tyranids codex.
• A Campaign book will be released and if I remember correctly it's called Leviathan.
• Blood Angels are still coming.
• There will be a starter set that contains BA and Tyranids. It will be similar to Storm Claw.
Hope to update Blood Angel rumors this week.

via an anonymous reader on Faeit 212: 10.12.2014

• The Blood Angels Codex briefly showed up on the Games Workshop mobile website. Cover featured what looked like a Sanguinary Guard surrounded by fire.

via Lords of War Gaming on Facebook: 10.11.2014

• Blood Angels Codex will be called Adeptus Astartes: Blood Angels. All future Codexes will use this same naming scheme.
• The Blood Angels Codex cover that is making the rounds is fake (I claim partial responsibility for this. See this post. –TH).

via an anonymous source on Faeit 212: 10.09.2014

• Blood Angels are indeed pegged for a mid-November release but there will be little or even no model releases at all.

via various sources: 10.09.2014

• New Mephiston in plastic. Huge, standing almost as tall as a terminator. Sword low across front in right arm. Left extented over the top with hand spread...individual fingers. Looks like he's lunging forward sweeping the blade in an uppercut. Cape blown about behind him. Model has skull and blood drop iconography all over. Aegis extends up like the cowl of the old figure but is much more recognisable as a psychic hood. Face is incredibly detailed. Fangs are visible.
• New Tycho in plastic. Death Company iconography with nipple armour. Carries a chainsword and signature combi-melta.
• New Corbulo in plastic wearing Sanguinary armour. Holding the Blood Chalice in two hands over his head as if in offering.
• New Blood Angels Terminators. Kit makes Terminators, Captain in Terminator Armour, Librarian in Terminator Armour, or new unit. Stormbolters are standard and not wrist mounted. Kit includes Power Axes, Power Fists, Power Sword, Force Sword, Heavy Flamer, Assault Cannon, new 2-handed Heavy Cannon, Banner. Also includes Librarian options (torso/tabard/shoulders/weapon), Captain options (combi-weapons), and a ton of bits.

• The Flesh Tearers are now watched by the Inquisition

• Blood Angels gain access to the Storm Talon from Codex: Space Marines, but not the new tanks
• New "Sanguinary" Unit in Terminator Armour
• Plastic Sanguinary Priest
• New wheeled vehicle
• Classic character gets a resculpt (contrary rumors between Mephiston/Tycho)

via anonymous source on Faeit 212: 05.12.14

• New Captain with second edition gold armour design and combo-melta
• New Predator kit containing options for Baal, Destructor, and Annihilator. Also includes a new melt turret.
• New multi-kit box featuring Honour Guard/Blood Brothers. Blood Brothers survived as members of the Death Company and have turned back to normal Adeptus Astartes. They are like Vanguard Veterans but more Blood Angel-like and with different weapon options.

via anonymous source on Faeit 212: 05.10.14

• A few models have been reworked, use of vehicles, and weapons previously not in the codex will be added. A few Blood Angels models should appear before the codex is released.

Phew! That was a lot to get through. I'll keep this updated until the Codex and White Dwarf 46 are released.

Till next time,

  2. Anyone else curious about that artificer armor on the sergeant in the tac squad pics? Not to start wishlisting, but I doubt they'd add in such bits and include them in every photo in WD just to make the Sgt. look different. Just the thought of having a 2+ Sv. Assault Sgt with a power fist makes me excited with the visions of all those power swords bouncing off him harmlessly, leaving the challenger open for a not-so-swift punch in the face.
