40K Radio reviews the upcoming Space Marines Codex!

I don't typically review or cover Podcasts, but my favorite Podcast, 40K Radio, has released Part 1 of their Space Marines Codex review which is HUGE. I can't remember the last time we had such an early and in depth look at an army Codex (Grey Knights was the last one that comes to mind). From what I've heard so far, it sounds like this Codex is going to be amazing and I can't wait to add some Space Marine allies to my Blood Angels lists.

More after the break.

Quick Tips: Paint Brush Covers

Welcome to another installment of Quick Tips. I've finally settled on my favorite paint brush, the Blick Master Kolinsky Sable Short Handle Round, and I recently went to Dick Blick to buy a couple more. I was surprised that almost none of their brushes had the clear plastic tube on top to protect the bristles.

When I asked the lady that worked there, she said they always throw them out because no one wanted them and they were only needed for shipping. I was baffled. I carry my brushes around in a pencil box and I need to have the bristles protected. Not only that, I figure if I'm paying more than $15 a brush I should be the one to decide if I want the cover or not. I figured I would just pick up the covers online and promptly bought my brushes and left.

New Space Marine Tactical Squad Pics

Pics are starting to show up of the new Tactical Squad Boxed Set over on 4chan. The new Tactical Squad isn't a big departure from the previous one and that's a good thing in my opinion. It looks like there might be 10 unique legs per set as each of the legs in the pics above are different. I especially like the Grav Gun (second row middle) and the marine that's aiming (first row far right). I'm sure these aren't all the bitz from the kit as we are missing the other special weapons and this image of a Crimson Fist Marine reloading his bolter also showed up.

The below image was also posted along with the Tactical Marines, but I'm pretty sure this is a Sternguard Sergeant since he is carrying a Combi-melta. I think this model looks great, and I'm happy that GW is going for a slightly different look with the new heads.

The flood gates have certainly opened and this definitely looks like Space Marines is going to be an amazing release. Can't wait till the new White Dwarf comes out so I can see more.

Till next time,

Rules for Space Marine Centurions

The Space Marine Centurions have been the talk of the town the past couple days. A lot of people don't like the models, don't like how they'll be retconning the fluff to fit them in, and of course it's the new over powered unit that everyone has a problem with. Personally, I'm not a fan of the models, but they are starting to grow on me a bit. I'm reserving final judgement until I see them person. As to the rules, the sky isn't falling and I hate how people form an opinion before we have all the info. Take a breath and relax.

Anyway, my favorite 40K Podcast, 40K Radio, has been posting some info over on their Facebook page of what the rules look like in the upcoming Space Marines Codex. Here is what we got so far and I did reformat this a bit for ease of reading and to fix some typos. If you want to see the original post, check out their Facebook page here. They also said there is more coming, so it would make sense to follow them on Facebook and give them a Like.

Rules after the break.

More Space Marine Pics!

A lot more pics are making the rounds and the current batch of pictures look fantastic! Except for the Centurions as the jury is still out, but the Devastator Centurions do look a LOT better (pics of them below).

Here we have the new plastics for the Chaplain, Captain, and Librarian. These are pretty cool and I like how the Librarian looks like Merlin and has Kano from Mortal Kombat as a cherub. Pretty creepy! Not sure on the Chaplain, but I think this is just a bad angle. I do like how the Captain has the old school crest on his helmet and that he is in the same pose as the Captain from the Black Reach boxed set. Nice homage there and it looks cool.

A lot more pics after the break.

New Space Marine Models Leaked!!!

Pictures of the new Space Marine Centurions and the Space Marine AA Tank the Stalker are starting to make their rounds. Personally, I think the Space Marine Centurions look ridiculous at least in yellow. I'll reserve final judgement until I see better pics and the models in person, but my first reaction is yuck! They look way too clunky and don't even look like they could walk.

More pics after the break.
