Space Hulk 3D Printed Terrain
Like a lot of people, the original Space
Hulk was my gateway into the world of miniature wargaming and Games
Workshop and is still one of my all time favorite games. The 4th edition
of Space Hulk was a great boxed game, but unfortunately didn't include
3D terrain. I have a Creality Ender 3 on the way, and I figured this
would be the best time to utilize my 3D modeling skills to create
terrain for use with Space Hulk, 40K, and Kill Team.
In the first part, I'll lay out the plans for my new project.

Reivers Rules Leaked!
Greetings all! Apologies for the lack of updates. I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. I am in the middle of moving to a new apartment and I did just have someone break into my online bank account, so I'm dealing with all of that. I did want to pop in quick and share the rules for the Primaris Reivers which were just leaked. Also, I did "fix" one of the released pics of the Reivers in Photoshop. My rendition to the right.

Repulsor Revealed!
Games Workshop just unveiled the Repulsor today which is the new transport for the Space Marines. Looks awesome, but the paint scheme was a bit off so I fixed it! My new paint job up top. Original model below.
I'm going to get to play a demo game tomorrow. I'll report back how it goes.
Until then,

Indexes Leaked! First look at Blood Angels in 8th!
EDIT: Updated with scans from the Index! Scans of points, profile of Death Company, Death Company Dreadnoughts, and Terminator Ancient after the break.
Turns out someone on an Italian Forum has all of the Indexes and is posting the rules. Over on DakkaDakka, KurtAngle2 is translating everything to English and posting it in this thread.
Being that this is being translated and there are no actual pics of the Indexes in question, I'd take this with some salt. The good news however is that the Space Marines Faction Focus article dropped on the Warhammer Community website. Seems like a lot of this is actually lining up, so it seems fairly legit.
After the break our first look at the Blood Angels in 8th Edition.

Also, if you are hungry for more 8th Edition news, check out this crazy long thread on Dakka Dakka. Big thanks to Rippy for maintaining the crazy summary in the first post.

Dusting off the blog for 8th Edition & Shameless Plug
Hey all,
Crazy that it has been 2+ years since I've posted. Like many of you, I quickly tired of 7th Edition and was on my way out of the hobby. Then GW announced 8th Edition and reeled me back in. I have been following the updates on Warhammer 40K 8th Edition with much interest. I'm really impressed with how far GW has come this past couple years. Going from a company that didn't listen to any outside feedback at all to where we are now is pretty impressive. In particular, fan interaction is great and the guys that run the Warhammer Community Facebook account and how the troll the community is amazing (see inset image).
As a game, 40K got really stagnant. The rules were over bloated and the game just wasn't fun for me anymore. List building for tournaments became an insane amalgamation where generals wouldn't bat an eye putting Dark Angels and Space Wolves in the same army which was crazy town and just felt wrong.
Luckily, they realized the error of their ways, and brought in outside help for the first time in years, The fact that GW brought in outside playtesters from Adepticon, Nova, and Frontline Gaming was definitely a step in the right direction. Last I knew, GW stopped using outside playtesters way back when I was writing Lustria scenarios and Warbands for them back in the Mordheim days which was in the early 2,000s.
What we have now is an edition based on fan feedback. Honestly, this is the game I wanted to play. A lot of the stuff they included like models can shoot at what they want, command points, running, are all house rules I used to play with anyway so the changes are most welcome. I'll post more about my thoughts in the future when we get a better idea of where the Blood Angels are going in this edition. I also have some no hobby projects and tutorials in the works, so look out for more soon.
Finally, a bit of a shameless plug. A friend of mine just released a Kickstarter for a new turn-based Tactical RPG. A lot of the design was influenced by tabletop wargames and you can actually play the game now as there is a demo available. Art Direction and the maps were done by me. If this is your kind of game and you want to see it made, please back if you are able to. Every little bit helps. If you can't back, a mention to your friends or a post to your social media outlet of choice would be much appreciated.
Next time I'll discuss what the implications for 8th Edition hold for my favorite boys in red.
Until then,
-The Harrower

How to Rebase Miniatures
I've recently caught up with my freelance backlog having finished off some miniatures for Megacon Games MERCS: Recon Kickstarter. For those that are curious I included a pic below. If you pledged for the 3 Drone Minis add on, this is what you are going to get. I'm really excited to see how these turn out. I've done a lot of 3D models, but never anything that was produced as an actual 3D object that will make it to the tabletop. Once I get some copies of the production pieces I'll be sure to share them here.
With this post I'm taking my blog back to it's roots with some much needed hobbying. Today, we're going to rebase one of my Blood Angels and give him a shiny new 32mm base. Let's get started after the break!

Harlequins Compiled PDF Preview
All right all you Juggalos and Juggalettes! It's time to queue up Insane Clown Posse and Wicked Clowns as today sees the preorder of the new Harlequins Codex.
As usual when a Codex goes on preorder there is a bunch of new eye candy to take in including new images as well as excerpt previews from the Black Library website and the Apple's iBooks Store. I've complied both the iBooks and ePub previews into a single PDF for your viewing pleasure. I also have all of the images reposted here so you can view all the new stuff in one place. I'm not really down with the clown, but this Codex has some of the best artwork I've seen coming out of GW (including the above image I stitched together in Photoshop from the iBooks preview).
View the images and download the PDF preview after the break.

Starweaver/Doomweaver leaked (aka Clown Car)!
I've never been a big fan of the Harlequins (unless we're talking the Joker's chick), but I know people really dig them so I'll repost them here for everyone. I have to say, the models are pretty cool. Probably not something I'll pick up, but I like the action poses on the minis and I especially like the look of the Starweaver/Voidweaver.

Base Comparisons: 25mm and 32mm
Initially I didn't think the larger 32mm bases would have much impact on gameplay. After all, it was only a difference of 7mm how much bigger could they possibly be? Looking at them first hand I think it might be a bit more significant than I had initially thought.
More on "Basegate" and some comparison pics after the break.

New Blood Angel/Flesh Tearer Formations
I'll do a review of the Codex in the next few days, but for now I wanted to share some of the crazy new Blood Angel and Flesh Tearer formations that are in White Dwarf and the final installment of Shield of Baal: Exterminatus. Among them is the Angel's Fury Spearhead Force which consists of 3 Storm Ravens and 3 Ten Man Tactical Squads. Not only can the whole formation arrive starting Turn 1, but it has a special rule Augur Triangulation that allows models arriving from Deepstrike to assault starting Turn 1!

Final Blood Angels Rules Dump
This is it. My final "preview" post on the new Blood Angels Codex. This gives us a really good picture of what to expect come release. If you are stuck on a forum or Facebook group that's fallen to the Black Rage, stop on over at The Bolter and Chainsword's Blood Angel Subforum which has resisted the Red Thirst and remains the most open minded and frankly the best gathering of Blood Angels players on the internet IMHO.
Big thanks to Pascalnz and Duke Danse Macabre from over there for getting hold of the Codex early and doing a massive Q and A. I believe they are still answering questions, so if there's something you are dying to know, head on over to this thread. At this point, I'm satisfied with what I know and for anything else I'm just going to wait until I get my Codex.
Rules dump coming after the break.

Blood Angels Compiled PDF Preview
Update: I updated the link. Apparently all the traffic broke my Dropbox!
Just in case you aren't keeping up with my "Blood Angels: Compiled MEGA Post!!!" I created a 55 page PDF which compiles previews from: Blood Angels Codex: iBooks Interactive Edition, Blood Angels Codex: eBooks Edition, and the Sons of Sanguinius: iBooks Interactive Edition. You can download it here.
With that, I'm going to take a break from the Blood Angels rumors for the time being unless pics leak of a unit we haven't heard of yet or something else interesting pops up. I'm still adding auctions to eBay and I'm starting to get to the Warhammer Fantasy Battle stuff I had laying around. You can see what I'm currently selling here.
Enjoy the weekend folks and let's offer some words of encouragement to my Pittsburgh Steelers as they are in dire need of it.
Till next time,
–The Harrower
